Eugénie Rezaire

Eugénie RÉZAIRE was born on November 26, 1950 in Cayenne. She is one from a family of nine children. She left Guyana in 1969 for France, where she entered the Faculty of Arts and Human Sciences at Tours to prepare for her bachelor's degree. She continued her university studies in France (Tours and Paris) and at Mount Hilike College (Massachusetts).

She teaches English at several colleges, from Cayenne to St-Laurent. She participates in the cultural work of the Association of Friends of Léon Damas of which she was president and one of the founders.
